June 2026 Player of the Month
After spending most of June treating Thursday nights like his own private cash machine, Kyle Watson has finally been officially crowned East Durham Poker’s Player of the Month.
And frankly, nobody is surprised.
Across June, Kyle played 9 games, reached 7 final tables, won 3 of them, finished in the top three on 4 occasions, cashed 4 times, and somehow walked away with an 82% ROI.
Seven final tables from nine games is not a decent run of form. It is harassment.
Kyle collected 2,608 POTM points at the tables before adding another 120 points from the player vote and winner’s bonus, finishing with a total of 2,728 points.
He was also the only player to receive a vote.
That either means the entire room agreed he was the obvious winner, or Kyle stood beside the voting box staring at everyone until they made the correct decision.
To be fair, the votes probably made absolutely no difference this month. His results had already done enough damage. The peer vote was merely the room formally acknowledging that, yes, Kyle had spent the month repeatedly taking their chips and appearing annoyingly pleased with himself while doing it.
His recent Thursday record has now earned him the unofficial title of The Thursday King, although “man who turns up once a week to ruin everybody’s evening” may be slightly more accurate.
And what better way to celebrate than tonight’s £100 Regulars’ Request?
Kyle apparently cannot wait to see everyone coming through the doors tonight, mainly because every new arrival represents another potential contribution to the Kyle Watson Appreciation Fund.
