Dan Turnbull Finds the Key … Again
Forget the tournament result for a minute, because last night we had another bit of East Durham Poker chaos as the Key to the Chest promo came out to play.
Early in the game, Dan Turnbull eliminated Martin Gibson and found the mystery bounty. That gave Dan the choice every poker player dreams of… take a guaranteed £5, or ignore common sense completely and have a crack at opening the chest.
Naturally, Dan chose the key.
And naturally, because apparently he has previous experience as either a locksmith, a safecracker, or a man who has made a suspicious deal with the poker gods, he found the winning key and opened the chest for £180.
This is not the first time Dan has managed to get the chest open either, which is starting to feel less like luck and more like we need to check his sleeves for a full set of spares.
Well done Dan, another cracking result and another jackpot claimed.
The chest now resets and starts again at £10.
For anyone new to the promo, £10 is taken from every tournament and added into the Key to the Chest promotion. The mystery bounty winner gets the choice between taking £5 cash or choosing a key and trying to open the chest.
If the player takes the £5, the other £5 goes into the jackpot. If the player chooses the key and fails to open the chest, the full £10 goes into the jackpot instead.
Simple enough really. Find the bounty, choose wisely, and try not to let Dan Turnbull anywhere near the keys.
