5th Annual Knocker Memorial Tournament Winner

Meladey Bags Second COCF25 Seat After Winning The 5th Annual Ian `Knocker` Stephenson Memorial Tournament

Fergal Meladey continued his stunning run of form at East Durham Poker yesterday, taking down the 5th annual Ian `Knocker` Stephenson Memorial Tournament and securing his second COCF25 seat of the year.

The victory is remarkable given that this was only Meladey`s third ever game at the East Durham Card Room. He has rapidly established himself as a dominant force, having already won the coveted Team Event outright earlier this year.

His latest triumph adds another major title and a second seat to the annual Championship of Champions Final (COCF25) to his rapidly growing poker resume.

While official results confirm the win and a £1111 prize pool, the tournament saw a disappointing turnout of only 13 entries and 3 re-entries, falling short of expectations for the memorial event.

However, all accounts indicate that the atmosphere and competitive banter on the day made it a truly good day for those who participated.

Organisers extended a heartfelt thank you to all those who attended, including two dedicated players who prioritized the tournament over their beloved football team, now famously missing Newcastle United`s last-minute winner yesterday to beat the traffic and take their seats before late registration ended.

The East Durham Poker team concluded by stating that while they hope to return again next year for the 6th annual event, they will be reviewing the situation following this year`s low numbers.
