Tommy Farrell Secures Third Seat

Tommy Farrell, a man who has clearly never heard the phrase "less is more," has successfully bagged a third entry into the year-end COCF25 Champion of Champions Final at the East Durham Poker Card Room.

His latest coup came yesterday in the "Summer Heater - COCF Special," a tournament so exclusive it felt less like a competition and more like an accidental gathering of eleven blokes who all happened to be craving a packet of Scampi Fries at the same time.

But an unusual small 11-man field didnt stop play, and it certainly didnt stop Tommy. While others might see a small field as a reason to take it easy, Tommy saw it as a personal challenge to win in the most dominant fashion possible. He took "full advance" and proceeded to win the tournament, adding yet more chips to his already "stacking stack" for the final.

Hes now a one-man poker army, a three-headed hydra of felt-based destruction, and a financial advisors worst nightmare all rolled into one.
The atmosphere was, according to multiple sources, "good," and the poker "great"—which, in Tommy`s world, are just polite ways of saying he won and everyone else lost.

As for the rest of the players, their stories are a bit less epic. Chris Maddison, for example, had a rollercoaster of a day that involved more downswings than a trip to Seaburn Funfair.

After needing a third "bullet" (the term for a re-buy, which Tommy thankfully didn’t need to explain to him) just to stay afloat, Chris managed to squeak into a second-place finish.

He was "lucky," according to the post-game summary, a word that perfectly captures the look on his face when he realised he hadn`t just wasted his evening. He needed at least second place just to see a profit, and the relief on his face when he did was so profound it could have powered the lights for the entire card room.

The East Durham Poker Card Room`s organizers have thanked all who turned up for the game.
